The uncanny resemblance between Metro Design & Explosive Design

We look at things on a human scale because, my assumption is that, it happens because of learning. By nature humans or animals for that matter, the point of first visual contact is the middle of any object. everything explodes around us from a focal point. This was the basis of my examining with the idea of Explosive design. Content need not cascade down from the top like we are taught to contain. It can grow from the center of the any given space.

Our universe did not cascade into existence, I do not see why our interfaces
necessarily have to. Explosive design in that sense is an alternative.

In 2008, I had incorporated the features of explosive Design into a
gaming product for Gamiana Entertainment .
Windows 8 released in 2012. The million dollar question is why is there such an uncanny resemblance with the interfaces.
Although in Microsoft’s favour, conceptually the two are far apart.

The Metro design elements in the Microsoft version of Windows 8 lays out lot of its content in blocks in a far simplified manner.

Explosive Design 2009

Explores the possibility of exploding content from the middle of a given screen. The arrangement is also in more complex blocks
devised exactly 3 years ago before Windows 8.
